  10. i didnt know that someone dies from hunger every 3 seconds or that you could die from diarrhea. thats really sad. i know that there are volunteer programs, like the walk for hunger in boston, that you can do to raise money for the hungry.

  22. According to the world factbook 15.8% of Russians are living below the poverty line, so there certainly is hunger and poverty there. Perhaps the report you were looking at did not include Russia.

    2.) Because people are malnourished it makes them weaker and sick, which in turn makes them less able to work, which makes them poorer and hungrier

  33. 1)although starvation occurs in many areas, many farmers and producers will not produce food to avoid over-production
    2)millions of people are starving in America today, yet we keep giving away food and money to different 3rd world countries

I learned that for about the third that we spend on weight loss products we could solve world hunger, which is pretty sad that while we're being superficial about looks and being overweight there are people and children dying who i'm sure would love to even be able to have a weight problem. I also learned that world hunger could be solved with what the military spends in 2 days! i agree with jesse, it is mind boggaling, it is crazy thinking thousands of people are dying a day because they can't afford to eat, while the rest of us completely take advantage of the fact we can eat three meals a day and even then some.

  41. I didnt know that one out of every eight children under the age of 12 in the U.S goes to bed hungry every night. I also didn't know that of the 57 million people worldwide died last year, 10.5 million of them were children less than 5 years old. I knew that people were dieing from starvation but I didn't know that it was this bad. Its so sad!

  43. I learned that hunger kills mostly children under five years old, and that in haiti is so bad they eat dirt cookies. I also learned that every 3-4 seconds a person dies of hunger.
