Extra Credit - Preventing Disasters Game

A disaster simulation game from the UN/ISDR. The core audience for this game is 9-16 year olds, but anyone can play and enjoy the game, and everyone will learn more about preventing disasters. Each scenario takes between 10 and 20 minutes to play, depending on the disaster you are trying to prevent and your skill level. There are five scenarios to play, and each can be played on easy, medium or hard difficulty levels.

  1. i relized that really there is much u can do these disasters are so deadly no matter what you try they could wipe out almost anything in there path

  2. After playing this game I learned it takes a lot of time and preparation as well as money to be fully prepared for a disaster. Also, the infrastructure of your environment can help or hurt your survival

  4. i did the wildfire scenario and i did a pretty good job of protecting my people only 5 out of 400 died, but i realized how many defences go in against a wildfire

  5. I liked it, its really tough to prepare for a earthquake, there isnt a whole lot you can do.

  6. The tsunami destroyed my area really bad and i see how hard it is to live in those places that have threats like that
