After creating a website and doing some research about child soldiers, what did you learn that surprised you? Make a statement of your own and comment on one other person's posting.
The use of child soldiers is so sad and cruel....I can't even belive its still going on today in some places.Also....despite the fact that they're being forced to fight, they are also being used as sex slaves! That is so horrible!! =*(
I was really suprised to find out that there were as many child soldiers as there are. It upsets me and it makes me extremely angry that people can be so foul and cruel. I know that this world can be harsh but I didn't think that it could be this harsh. Its just not right. It disgusts me and it just should end.
One thing that i learned that really bothered me was in one of my quotes i found that i boy said to show his honesty and if they can trust you and if you do not shoot your best friend then your best friend will be demanded to shoot you. One other thing is that around the world about 300,000 children are brought into battle.
I found out that approximately 250,000 children under the age of 18 are thought to be fighting in conflicts around the world. ALso, i cant beleive a boy had to shoot his best friend to be trusted. thats so sad and wrong.
It suprised me to find out how much of this is actually going on, its really devistating to find out how some places are today. It surpised me to that the ages were as small as 7-9
the child solders disscusion well i think that it's just stupid it makes no sense that people would do that i mean these are chhildren they should not be put through war it's insane. their not even sane any more once they "join" the military as children it's just wrong. what psychos would use children as solders it's bad enough that their taken from their home but now they get to see their fellow friends some times even family die right before thier eyes some kids are used to scout through mine fields hello wake up they are children not killing machiens that know no pain
I never knew that sometimes there were more female child soldiers than male child soldiers they are just used differently in a negative way an im amazed about what mari said about how many children are brout into this it just goes to show how cruel the world can be
Child soldiers are trained at an early age to fight in combat. That is nuts! They are brainwashed to kill. I agree with Michael saying these people who do it to these children are psycho. It's just not right.
Well according to "those People" child soldiers "make excellent suicide bombers" that is just wrong I mean how much torture do you have to put a kid through to make them want to kill themselves like that. It is just f@#$&%* sick.
i deffiantely agree with most posting about how surprising it is that there are so many child soldiers. one thing that really shocked me is when i read a quote from a young girl soldier and it said they all had to 'marry' a man from the army and they would rape them and some would even end up pregnant, i can't even imagine how that would be for them.
Something that suprised me about child soldiers, is the number of countries that still use child soldiers today. I thought it was just in a couple places, but the numbers are actually surprisingly high.
i agree with most of the other people on this post, on how disgusting it is, and how wrong it is, focing children to fight, and kill, of forced to marry, or are raped.

I learned that children ages 7 to 9 are the prime abduction subjects for armies, and that children often dont recieve the help they need after fighting because there familiey dont have the money for treatment or they do not want to come foward out of fear. I agree with mack because I to did not know other countries were using child soldiers.

Children as young as nine years old are kidnapped from their homes to become child soldiers. i strongly agree with michael it really is sick
