Most people that are taken in other countries are taken to the united states to do free labor. The average cost of a slve around the world is $90. Its also estimated that there are 27 million slaves world wide.
ReplyDeleteTiffanie you just got all this info off of my website! I just did my website on Human Trafficking so i gathered a lot of information. One interesting fact was some of the victims can be as young as 5. Second is the victims of human trafficking are used in a variety of situations prostitution, Slave, forced labor and other forms of involuntary servitude. Another is that it is estimated that 50,000 people are trafficked in the United States a year.
ReplyDeleteMari I asked you about human trafficking because I knew that you did your project on it and I thought it would help you if you explained it to me. Also Mrs. Borgeson said that we could use websites and youre page is a website. So there.
ReplyDeleteIn the United States alone, 100,000 women as well as young children fall prey to commercial sexual exploitation.
ReplyDeleteVictims suffer from dental decay, malnutrition and pain, for the lack of a proper diet.
Half of individuals being trafficked worldwide are under 18 years of age.
Officials in Somalia's self-declared independent state of Somaliland are concerned over a rise in human trafficking in the region.Police in Italy and across Europe have arrested a group of mainly Nigerian citizens accused of trafficking women for sex, European police agency Europol said.Barbados is the latest Caribbean country to defend itself against allegations that it isn't doing enough to prevent human trafficking. But Mike that is out real.
ReplyDeletei did my website on human trafficking and was pretty shocked at what i learned. one is that the US is a major import location for these people, and there are 100,000 US citizens being trafficked, 27 million worldwide. I read alot of stories from trafficking victims and most were women in other countries that would answer job ads and then be taken and trafficked. Also a lot of the stories i read were women who their husband or boyfriend would take them to a hotel on a trip or say they're moving for a job and then the women would be left alone until a stranger came and told them they had been sold. The fact these guys take and addict the girls to drugs, prostitute them, and beat them is disgusting. Sean mentioned that countries aren't doing enough and that is also what i found, they use the excuse that it is too underground but i think they should do everything they can to stop this because it is so wrong
ReplyDeleteHuman trafficking is used for a variety of things. Some people escape their countries to countries such as USA for a new life, others use human trafficking to sell sex slaves and sweat shop workers. Human trafficking also is used for drug trafficking purposes. Rachel's post was very informative.
ReplyDelete161 counties out of 192 are involved with human trafficking, and also women and children make up 80% of the people that are being taken, to become property, or slaves.
ReplyDeleteI really think it is strange how in this day and age we still "own" people like property like tiffanie said $90 dollars a day. that's pretty cheap for a human being if you ask me.
I found it surprising that the US is a major import location for these people, and there are about 100,000 people being trafficked in the U.S.. Someone mentioned that not enough is being done to stop this, and I agree. It makes me sick that these guys will beat these girls and prostitute them. And close to 27 million people worldwide are being trafficked.
ReplyDeleteIts so sad that human trafficking occurs here in the United States! People are being bought, sold, and smuggled. They are very miserable. Human trafficking takes a personal and psychological toll on society.
ReplyDeleteThe first fact that I found out about human trafficking was the only help center in the US can only properly treat 7-9 women. The second thing I looked up was the how profitable human trafficking was and it is the third most profitable criminal act behind arms trafficking and drug dealing. The last this I looked up was how its being stopped. The facts are only 140 people responsible for human trafficking have been convicted as of 2000-2005.
ReplyDelete1.) The average cost of a slave around the world is $90.
ReplyDelete2.) Around half of trafficking victims in the world are under the age of 18.
3.) It is estimated that there are approximately 27 million slaves around the world.

-I think its crazy that 161 out of 192 are involved with human trafficking
89% of 785 people in prostitution from nine countries wanted to escape prostitution. 75% of those in prostitution have been homeless at some point in their lives. 68% of 827 people in several different types of prostitution in 9 countries met criteria for post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The severity of PTSD symptoms of participants in this study were in the same range as treatment-seeking combat veterans, battered women seeking shelter, rape survivors, and refugees from state-organized torture.
ReplyDeleteHuman trafficking is a major problem around the woreld and the number of 50,000 i hope never gets bigger

I agree with marissa..it is crazy that so many people are involved in human trafficking!
ReplyDeleteHuman Trafficing is really sad. In many instances young teenage girls and even children are sold as sex slaves. Then they often contract STDs =( I agree with Danielle.
ReplyDeletei think that its terrible tht they smuggle people an sell them as well they can be as young as 5 thats horrrible
ReplyDeleteThey can be as young as 5!!! They mnostly die of sexual diseases and they are taken from their countries and sold to people elsewhere. It is horrible. Like Danielle said it is so sad that people do it in the United States we should know better than that. It's sickening
ReplyDeleteIn Thailand, entire families are trafficked for forced labor in sweatshops. Men are trafficked for farm, industrial, contstruction, and domestic labor. Women and children are trafficked to locations all over the world like Canada, Japan, and Russia for unvoluntary labor or sexual exploitation.

human trafficking is very bad and it happens all over the world today. tons of people kidnap or even drug girls or boys to capture them and put them on the street. millons of dollars coem from this business and its pathetic
ReplyDeleteand Rachel's comment was really helpful it's awful how easily they trick women into being trafficked by using job ads or relocating
